The movie was very well done but the story line was so far removed with the Jack Garrison stuff. . . It was true to the essence of Gilbert and Anne's love for each other, though, which really came through. I'm glad you didn't put the wedding scene in. . .My daughters were asking enough questions about why Anne was touching Jack Garrison's lips in the train, and why she was even so friendly with him when she was married/engaged. We're really glad you put out the movie and are hoping you'll do a fourth!!! If you hold true to the books (baby Joyce dying, etc.) it would still be a great movie, especially with such a big following already. THANK YOU! (09/22/2001)

I loved Anne 3. At first I was really confused - then I realized my DVD was on the wrong side! Then after starting over on the CORRECT side of the DVD I was amazed. It was an excellent movie. I really didn't take to it but after it sunk in, I loved it. I missed the simpleness of 1&2 but then it hit me - that's how it was in that era. People lived simple lives then were thrown into the war and things went crazy. I am so happy that I own this DVD and I would highly reccommend it to any Anne fan! (09/18/2001)

I just watched Anne 3 - and I was very disappointed. Why should any fan of the original series want to watch a SPY story? I think there is enough suspense, romance and tragedy in the book "Anne's House of Dreams": with Captain Jim, Leslie and her "husband" Mr. Moore, Anne's terrible loss of Baby Joy, the romantic setting in Four Winds and the hilarious Miss Cornelia. THAT would have made a good movie. I would have loved to see Anne's and Gil's wedding as it was described in the book (though of course it is a pity that Coleen Dewhurst didn't live to play Marilla at the wedding). There are so many delightful characters left out and the likes of Mr Garrett (that was his name, wasn't it?) can't begin to replace them. I keep on hoping for another version. Sandy (09/16/2001)

I loved it but I think their has to be another movie on how Gilbert's business in Charlottetown and how they have more children and how life goes for them. (09/09/2001)

I SAW ANNE THE CONTINUING STORY AND I ADMIT IT WAS A BIT DARKER IN TONE THAN THE PREVIOUS MOVIES, BUT I STILL LOVED IT. IT WAS WONDERFUL TO SEE ANNE AND GILBERT AS "MAN AND WOMAN", NOT JUST TWO SHY KIDS. I ENJOYED THE SCENES WITH ANNE AND GILBERT, AND WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE HOW AFFECTIONATE THEY WERE TO EACH OTHER IN THE MOVIE,(LOTS OF KISSING AND TOUCHING) I HOPE KEVIN MAKES ANOTHER MOVIE WITH THESE FINE ACTORS. TO THOSE WHO DID'NT LIKE THE THIRD MOVIE, I SAY LET ANNE GROW UP ALREADY!!! SHE CAN'T STAY 16 FOREVER!!!!! (09/08/2001)

I found this third installment to be lacking in everyway. I was insulted that Mr. Sullivan thought this was the correct course for the films and that we (the fans) would go along with it. I was bitterly disappointed. As young girl I read these beautiful stories and found hope and a role model in them. I too am a red head and was called carrotts by children at school. When those stories were made into films I was so happy, everyone was the embodiment of the characters I loved. Then this third film came out and ruined the beauty of the series. I am in the film business in Los Angeles and it is my desire to make a true sequal one day. I have decided not to buy this third installment for my collection and I hope that those who share such an opinion as my own do the same. It is the only way I can think to show my distaste to Mr. Sullivan. (09/06/2001)

I Loved the third installment of AGG. I know some people were not happy with the fact that Anne had lost some of the "perkiness" she had in the first two. But considering the fact that this film is where she is grown and starting her own family with trials and struggles, I thought it would be inappropriate for Anne to be so giddy like a school girl. I loved the actors and actresses new and returning and liked the fact that Diana's husband Fred played a big part which made a new element in the story. The costumes and scenery were wonderful and I'm glad that Mr. Sullivan took a different approach for the 3rd film. I thought it was creative and well done. I am forever an Anne of Green Gables fan. Although Anne 3 wasn't like the first two movies, I did enjoy it. It was very different, but there were many parts with our good old Anne with whom we fell in love with in the first two movies (08/31/2001)

I watched the Australian version of Anne 3 and i was a bit disappointed as a lot of the innocence and humour seems to have diminished so much even in the 1st hour of the movie (which tries to retain some of this). I didn't like the way that Anne 3 portrays Diana as a materialistic women. So due to these reasons why i didn't like the movie, i don't know how they could make Anne 4!!! If they follow the text in Anne 4 then the story doesn't appear to flow and the character changes seen in Anne 3 would be seen as unlike their characters in Anne 4. So In addition i didn't like the fact that the Australian version was approx 20 min shorter than the american/canadian version. However as a movie it's above average but it's quite sad that Anne 3 was totally unrelated to L. M . Montgomery's Anne novels as it would make it harder to find a good plot to make Anne 4.
