I have never been so disappointed in my life as when I watched Anne The continuing story. I have watched the first series many, many times and could watch them a thousand times more. The continuing story portrayed Anne as some kind of simpleton sexpot. I couldn't wait to get the internet so I could voice my absolute discust, it was almost impossible to sit through the whole show. Nothing and I mean nothing could entice me to sit through this ridiculous atrocity again. The character Anne in the continuing story was so removed from the Anne in the first series she was unrecognizable.
I can't understand how anyone who claims to love the Anne of Green Gables series could possible love this sequel. We waited forever to see a love story, Anne and Gil's love story. What did we get, Anne mooning over some spy and his child. The storyline bordered on the ridiculous, there was no trace of Anne anywhere. Absent also was incredible chemistry between her and Gilbert that made us squirm with delight when they finally kissed on the bridge. I was devestated when I watched this series, I really don't know if I could bring myself to watch anything but the first two series. A. Barker, Canada (07/23/01)

I didn't like this part og the story when I first watched it but now I've grown to like it because you get used to the war and at least neither of them died. Which is very good and I think that Dominique suits the two of them very well. It's very much a "happy ever after" story. This is why it is so enjoyable because even though they had may problems, everything worked out in the end. (07/16/01)

I was disappointed in the way the Anne character was portrayed. In the very first scene with Gilbert, I thought it was very unbecoming the way they had her fall. It would have been so much more romantic if they had had them embrace instead. Also, I didn't like the way they had her voice squeak when she first sees Diana and then Gilbert. I also wish I could have seen the scene of their wedding night, if they even had one. Anne was very aggressive toward Gilbert. He hardly kissed or hugged her at all unless she was the one who initiated it. It would have been better if Gilbert had been the aggressive one. However, those kissing scenes were very passionate. While I don't like it as well as the first two movies, it was okay. (07/16/01)

well although i love the books by Montgomery, didn't you still love the fact that Anne and Gil were back together? i was absoloutley dying to see the movie and when i saw i tell you it really wasn't what i expected, but then when Anne and Gil kissed i tell you my heart skipped a beat. I would really love to see a fourth and final Anne more along the story line (ie books) wouldn't you? however i have one query...in Anne 3 did you find that her dresses weren't very pretty? It was WAY to far off track. Anne is not an adventurious girl, she is a curious high spirited sensitive girl, she shouldn't have been thrown into the war, it made the movie far too complicating to than what it normaly was. (07/16/01)

Wow.. The third movie... I don't think I can express how devasatated I was when I saw it. Sullivan Entertainment took the "creative liberty" they had and created a monster. I have to give credit for the first 2 movies, but the continuing story is so far from the "anne of green gables" name that it uses in it's title. I realize that they do not say anywhere that the movie is based on the books of LMM,but if you look at the time line, ( with anne being born in 1866)ANNE WAS IN HER FIFTIES DURING THE WAR!! The beloved character had sons in the war, she did not get married during it! Also, by portraying the story as they did, Sullivan entertainment took away the importance and disgraced the memories of the women who stayed at home during the war, doing what they could from here and waiting for word of their families. This same story that wasn't exciting enough for a movie is what made the books popular for generations of readers in the first place. (07/16/01)

I was partly disappointed when i first saw Anne 3...however each time I rewatch it I like it better...Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea were 5++++++...Anne 3 was good but it just didn't have the humor...they should have included mrs.lynde more than just in that one scene...w/ her maybe it would have been funnier...and i can definitely feel marilla's absence. megan follows seemed to have aged not much but her voice deepened a lot...john crombie is very skinny...diana is the same in looks but i dont like how they made her rich. I think that this last movie adds for excitment to an already wonderful collection. The story not only keeps the audience of their toes but also provides a love story. The actors seem as if they have lived through the parts themselves. Megan Follows does a great job of displaying Lucy M. Montgumery's vision of Anne Shirley. I would like to say one last thing. I hope that these movies will enjoy you as much as they have me. (07/13/01)

Anne3 was the best. Hopefully there will be Anne4 cause they need just a bit more info. on how did everything turn out after the war. and will anne and gil have a baby and how did everyone else do. Gil loved Anne the minute he saw her. Anne loved him but wouldn't admit it. In Anne2 when Gil told Anne that he was getting married, Anne wasn't happy and neither was Gil. He just wanted Anne from the bottom of his heart. Please make one more Anne movie....because there is still a few more things that need to be shown! (07/12/01)
