I loved it. Yes, it was a dramatic change from the previous two books. And while the childish romance was gone. The mature adult romance was as beautiful as ever. I enjoyed seeing all the characters grow up. (And surprised that Diana didn't turn into the plump character she anticipated. She looked beautiful) The storyline and its faults, but I've watched the first two movies a couple dozen times each, and which one didn't have its faults. This movie is magical despite the war-torn world, and I loved it! (06/20/01)

It wasn't the light hearted Anne. It was way too intense, and she starts falling for another man which is way out of character. I didn't like it at all. (06/18/01)

I really love the Anne of Green Gables series and my best one that I have seen so far is Anne of Green Gables; the continuing story. That is because it is set in the war, it's sad, and Anne and Gil gets married. Megan Follows is a really good actress but she was a bit dramatic. I was just wondering how do the makeup artists people make Megan look younger in Anne of Green Gables, middle age in Anne of Green Gables; the sequel and older looking in Anne og Green Gables; the continuing story? Please write back (if you can). Anyway, overall I rate it 4.5 out of 5 because I thought it was really good. From Natalie (06/18/01)

I think L.M. Montgomery is rolling in her grave, screaming at the horror that is Anne 3. Why is Anne gallavanting around New York, London, and Paris? It is a ludicrous and unbelievable story. I absolutely hated it. Why didn't Kevin Sullivan read Anne's House of Dreams and Anne of Ingleside, for god's sake, instead of producing such a monstrous production? (06/18/01)

Megen Follows, Jonathan Crombie & Schuyler Grant pulled off the un- Anne storyline wonderfully. I was very disapointed in the WW1 backdrop. Anne & Gil's CHILDREN were involved in it in the books! I will admit that the storyline would have been a winner for Mr. Sullivan had he just NOT used it as Anne 3. The much awaited marrage between Anne and Gilbert is toned down & short(approx.5 min.)& to top it off Gilbert marries in his uniform & Anne seams distracted by the prospect of Gil going off to war. I expected Anne to grow up and mature, but she was so serious and changed. No poetic sentences, nothing that I tie in with Anne(except one scene at the begining of the movie where she falls, which was really like the Anne I remember). I didn't like the Jack Garrison storyline at all! Good grief, if you cut him out you would have cut the movie time in half(which would have been welcomed because I thought it was a bit long). I get chills when I think of Gil's haunted face remembering what he saw in the war- this after Anne finds him. I would only suggest watching it because Anne & Gilbert finially get married. Personally I think this movie should be scrapped and started over with Anne and Gil's marrage and re-casting Marilla. Besides who would guess Mr. Sullivan didn't put the first two movies in the same time frame as did L.M. Montgomery (which, he says, is the reason for the WW1 backdrop) - I wouldn't have been able to tell. One last thing: I think Mr. Sullivan took too much liberty with the WW1 theme & Anne and Gilbert adopting a toddler. (06/15/01)

What can I say? Pants, pants, pants with frills on. There was no charm, no depth and wit. And who the heck does Jack Garrison think he is? I am completely devastated by this movie. This complete violation of Anne. We weep, weep, weep. Sorry for lack of vocab, we recognise that Anne would be ashamed of us, but then, this was hardly the Anne we all know anyway. These comments are deliberately scathing to let you know the depth of emotion we feel about this travesty. The film has ISSUES. We cry our agony and defiance to the world. To the WORLD!!!!! Upon your conscience be it Mr. Sullivan. And NO, plum puffs won't minister to a mind diseased and a world that's crumbled into pieces, so don't even try that line. This film has scarred our souls. The hurt can never, never be erased. We shall not rest until the world knows of Anne. The real Anne, the inimitable Anne, we will rise, WE SHALL RISE...WE will take over the world...We...I.... Sorry, got carried away there. Ehem... What I meant to say was. I really didn't like the movie as it was poorly scripted and innaccurate. There were some touching moments. Thank you for listening, have a nice day. (06/14/01)

It had more action than the first two, and it was very satisfying to see how Anne and Gil cared for eachother. The only downside was that Megan looked different, and some of the charm of the first two was lost. All in all, I liked it. (06/14/01)
