I loved this movie. I cried so many times. It was good to see Anne and Gil again. If you love Anne of Green Gables, you will love this movie. (05/14/00)

I was really disappointed for a lot of the reasons that the others below have mentioned. The true Anne was lacking. I couldnt help but wonder what happened to Megan Follow between the original Anne movies and the continuing story. I really did not like the relationship between Anne and Jack Garrison, I wished Sullivan had stuck closer to the books and saved the war movie for Rilla of Ingleside. I must say my husband liked it. I would like to see a Anne four if it puts more of the old Anne into it. (05/10/00)

Where's my Anne? The headstrong, lovable, impulsive, dreamy, romantic, beautiful Anne Shirley? She's been replaced by some redhead that lets people push her around, cheats on her husband, and runs around a battlefield drinking whisky! (Sadly, that's not much of an exaggeration. . .) Sullivan, you brought us Anne 1 and 2, and they were beautiful movies that were worthy of the charm and romance of the books, but this is a travesty! I wanted to see Anne's House of Dreams with Anne and Gil together, the simple-souled and brave Captain Jim, the tragically beautiful Leslie Moore, little Joyce, Jem. . .and instead I got this movie that claims to be part of the Anne series. It's not. On it's own merits, it's all right, not great, not awful, but as an Anne of Green Gables film, it simply doesn't work. (05/06/00)

I saw the movie on PBS a little while back, and it was *horrible*!! At first, I recognized Megan Follows, and continued to watch because I was interested in other things this actress might have done. Then I realized that she was still playing Anne in some travesty of a Anne of Green Gables movie! It's really a pity they did this, since the rest of the books (especially 'Rilla of Ingleside') would have been *great* movies/miniseries. (04/30/00)

This past weekend I finally got to see Anne Of Green Gables, The Continuing Story, and I loved it!! But I must say I was a little dissapointed because they had strayed so far from the book, but I am dieing to see it again, I hope there will be a Anne #4 and I hope that they will stay to the books. I must say in all honest i have yet to see Anne 3. I live in europe and don't easily come by such things. however, I have read up on the story and i was wondering why didn't you stick to the originial stories. they were such good stories, i love them dearly. I must saw that I was a little upset with Anne of Avonlea, because the movie portrayed the stories that took place in Anne of the island as well as Anne of Windy Poplars. One day i'm going to re-make all the Anne movies and base them on the original story line. it is through these movies that I was first introduced to the world of Anne, and my life has never been the same since. I plan to give back to the world what they have given me...espically for all thoes girls out there who believe in farires and happily ever afters. It is my life long dream and ambition. So in closing i can't really say that i'm upset with Sullivan entertainment for what they have done to the Anne stories, because it still gives me the opportunity to make the gradest Anne films the world has ever seen. Just thought you would like to know Christine ANNE Spellman (04/22/00)

The continuing story-I've got to say that over all I absolutely loved the movie. I have only just started reading the books, so I did not feel the least bit dissapointed when I saw the third movie. I felt unbearably sad for Gilbert when Anne was reading Jack's note, and most definately did not enjoy the sene in the train that had Anne, Dominick, and the two actresses. I cried almost the whole way through the movie and yet I loved it and would never keep myself from watching it because it "didn't really happen". The thing that I think most of you have been talking about is how, you laugh during the whole first movie, and you cry during the whole last movie. They are different. ANNE OF GREEN GABLES ARE THE BEST BOOKS AND MOVIES EVER!!! (04/20/00)

I was completley shock and dissapointed with "Anne of Green Gables - the Continuing Story." It was a complete misrepresentation of the actual story written by Lucy Maud Montgomery and had little or no similarities with the previous two movies! And I was appalled that they placed her great name and the Anne of Green Gables name against this tragic movie. I am a great lover of the first two movies of Anne of Green Gables, however, I urge anyone who is a kindred spirit to buoycott watching the third in this series! It simply isn't the Anne of Green Gables we all know and love!!!! (04/20/00)

Where I live this movie was broadcast in two parts on two seperate nights. The first night all I did was scream at the t.v. "That didn't Happen!" By the second night I had calmed down enough to realize that this wasn't really an "Anne" movie, it was a sad knock off of Saving Private Ryan where the characters and place names happend to be the same as those in the Anne story. Don't get me wrong, I didn't mind the actual movie but, like many of you, I wonderd what was so wrong with the story of the books. If a war movie was so important to Kevin Sullivan, he could have done a movie based on "Rilla of Ingleside" the last book in the series. It has mention of our favorite characters as well as some new ones and a really great story line. Now I'll grant it doesn't have the excitment of anyone running off to a war zone after their husbands, but it does talk about what life was like "on the home front" which could be just as interesting as the movie. I'm hoping that an Anne 4 will come along so we can see Anne's kids (Jem, Walter, Nan, Di, Shirley and Rilla) and get back to that heartwarming story line we all fell in love with (04/20/00)
