Hi, I live in far-away Hungary, where the Anne films have been aired several times, although I only got in touch with it 2 years ago. Recently I've read the first 3 books of LMM, and I'm planning to read the rest as well (I've taken them from the library, but haven't had time to read them). I like both the books and the films and I also like this site very much, especially the script and the sounds which are very interesting to a foreigner, and the pictures and bloopers and "dod you know...?"s as well. Really nice work. (01/18/2003)

(continued) I also got the Anne soundtrack, will be staring Anne in a play, and I have Anne boots. I read all of the books within a month. I write ALOT. I have red hair, green eyes, i'm skinny, and I have freckles. I have a HUGE HUGE imagination! I even named the magical places in my yard after Anne's and I have my very own Haunted Wood. I REALLY love the clothes and the carriages. I always dream of meeting my Gil! Anne has a light in my heart that will never be burned out! (01/08/2003)

When I was eight, about to be nine, my mom read me the Anne of Green Gables book. I was like Anne's twin.I just absolutley feel in love with the story and the victorian era. Soon my mom started reading us other stories and I didn't really think about anymore. Well, we went to the store and got the Anne movie. I watched it, read ALL of the books and I just love Anne and the Victorian Era soooo much I cry myself to sleep some nights. Soon, I started making my own dresses and bonnets. So one day I wore my dress (With puffed sleeves of course), pantaloons, peddicoat, and bonnet. I get bullied sooo much because of liking Anne and all that stuff it doesn't bother me. I have also started doing tons of reasearch on the Victorian era, have learned to serve tea, and do a victorian waltz, and much much more! (01/08/2003)

I 'met' Anne when I was about 6. Thats the first time I saw the movies. My mother had read the books as a child and loved the movies as well. When I was in the third grade "Anne of Green Gables" was assigned as a reading assignment. I fell in love even more. I read all the other books within a year and a half and have read them innumerable times since then. Whenever I'm feeling depressed or lonely I can flip to my favorite scenes in the books/movies and feel like I'm surrounded by friends. Anne has always been my favorite character and my friends (who have all seen the movies thanks to me) say I'm exactly like her. Lost in a dream world. Unfortunatly Im not like her in respect to school work. (oh well..no ones perfect). I also tend to write a lot as you can see. Gil is my second favorite character, not because of his romance with Anne. I love his character because he's not perfect. He starts out as a rash and unthinking young boy and turns out to be a brilliant loveable courteous young man. His character shows some of the greatest change throughout the books, IMHO. well...thats my anne story..hope i didnt bore you too much with the details. (12/16/2002)

the moment i read the very first novel of anne shirley, i was hooked, and forced my mom to buy me the seven sequels. after reading it all, i started to name my surroundings around me; and was hoping to be called "carrots", although my hair is not red. my hair is black like diana's; so i think "crow" is the right name for me. honestly, i enjoyed anne's life because we have something in common. it's the most colorful story about a little girl growing up that i've ever known!!! Oh gosh! I couldn't even tell you when I first read the Anne books or got hooked on the movies. :) I instantly fell in love with them and always was begging to rent the movies. The books and movies are so clean and approbriate for all ages; something rarely seen in today's society. It presents a world I think we all wish was real to live in. Anne is such a beloved character and we all relate in one way or another to her...or the other characters. Reading or watching Anne is good for the soul! ;) God bless. (11/27/2002)

i first noticed "anne of green gables" in a form of a children's book. although the story is a light one, i enjoyed it a lot and purchased the eight original novels. like anne, i'm also a girl full of imaginations. and gilbert blythe is exactly the man i ever dreamed of marrying someday. i give unusual names for my 17 cats; all were my creation just like anne. i also like the name cordelia. most of all, i love to write articles of the things resulted on my own imagination. too bad the "anne" movies have not yet been shown here in the philippines. i love to watch them. i guess i have to save my allowance in order to buy my own videos!!! I am a girl from Holland and I am now in Canada. A friend of my said I had to watch Anne of Green Gables. It was awesome!!! I am totaly grazy of the clothes and the beautiful nature in the movie. I wish I could live in thate time, the 1900's and were the clothes etc. Anne is such a great girl. Everyone loves her because she is so nice to everyone and she has a lot of patience. But it annoys me that she didn't accept Gilbert. He is so nice and good. But ofcorse, she didn't need a boyfriend, she was so young. Happily, at the end of the seccond movie, she found him. My biggest wish is to play in a movie like Anne of green Gables. I am also a big fan of Road to Avonlea. I think its just the time and the beautiful clothes and the people. But of course you only see the bright side, there were also people who were very poor. I definitley going to visit the Green Gables house. I love Anne of Green Gables!!! Judith (10/25/2002)

I really love the movies of Anne of green gables. I was not very happy about the last movie- the continuing story. The story of the war was too long, there was much suspense, perhaps too much, but not enough parts with humor or romance. It was a good film, the actors were well but the story was too rude... Hi! This is not exactly an Anne experience, but I couldn't find a feedback address from the site - which is great, by the way! But I red the bloopers section and thought this might be additional to them. In the second last episode of the sequel Anne has come home from the concert and put Emmeline to bed and goes to see Morgan Harris. As she enters the room, he's lighting a cigar and inhale once, blowing out the smoke. The cigar then disappears from the next screen. Then there is smoke... and then he stands up and has no cigar, just matches that mysteriously have appeared from somewhere and he tosses them away. One adventurous cigar, that is. Also, as Anne is leaving, the wall she is standing against, does this funny thing, closing and and going farther... Well, so much about that. I have always loved the books and recently invested in an omnibus containing all eight. I live in Finland and as I was still younger, only six were translated into Finnish - Anne of Windy Poplars and Anne of Ingleside were published in Finnish only this fall... So I was puzzled when first watching the series. It was very good also, even though I do think the producers might have been more faithfull to the original story. At least it is not like the Emily of New Moon series which, pardon me the expression, raped the whole spirit of the original story. The actors in Anne series are just perfect and Colleen Dewhurst as Marilla is maybe my all time favourite TV character. There is something veru inspirational in the whole story, both in the series and especially in the books! (09/24/2002)

The Anne of Green Gables movies aren't just a girl thing, thay are a family story. I lost my first child which was a girl. I have a son, married now, having a child, it will be a boy. I first seen the movie on TV about a month ago. Since then I have all 3 movie, read one book and will read more. If a child like her walked into my life right now, it would be a dream come true. In the past month I have watched all the movies at least 20 times. The joy of my life would be to have a daughter. (09/20/2002)

when I was a child, my mother has bought a series of Anne's tapes and I've seen them many times.Besides, I've read Anne's books, too. Then, there has a long time I forgot them. Untill I became a third grades student in senior high school, I've read them again. During that time, I suffered a lot of pressure from the Joint College Examination. One day, I wanted to take a breath, and casually found those old books on the selves. I took one to read, and was deeply moved by the contents. How prefect paradise it is to me ! I was overwhelmed and facinated by the wonderful land. Now, I'm a university student, and I saw them again. No matter how many times I've seen them, I was always totally attracted. THe books wrote by L.M Montgomary have been the classical wrintings and Sullivin has made them better. The music. background, and actors in film have been combined and created a most beutiful dream in the world. Everyone who has seen the programs can't never forget the charming scenery and warm people in Edward's island. It's the most glaring dream hidden in our heart forever.... (09/07/2002)

I try to read at least one Anne book every summer. They remind me that I am in a world of beauty and I have to stop and enjoy it. Anne taught me to love words and remember that there is always a "bend in the road". These books are such possitive books I think all people should read them! (08/29/2002)

I was seven years old when I took "A Child's Story", which, incidently, was Anne of Green Gables, from our school library. She has kindled a flame in my heart, which cannot be snuffed out. (08/28/2002)

I love everything about Anne of Green Gables... from the picturesque lifestyle to the enchanting characters! Anne Shirley/Blythe has been my inspiration. She makes me want to be ever so much better and have a more optomistic attitude. Anne and myself have many things in common, too. Her life makes me want to live back in that time also. Anne Shirley is my pride and joy, and I love both the movies and the books! I had seen the movies over the past years and now I watch them whenever I have a chance and I started the books and read 1-6 in a week. Then I was unable to continue reading them... due to lack of owning 7 and 8... but now I own them all and love them with all my heart. Anne Shirley really does make me want to be a better person. Hi all u kindred spirits! After visiting in many Anne sites, I have a comment 2 share with u. I hate the Anne films! I love so much the books, I can't stop reading them, but I'm really upset with the films. I know u may say that only the third one, and maybe the second too, are not very similar 2 the books, but I believe that in all of them changes were made. I can't understand why! All the "Anne of Green Gables" books are such beautiful books, & I'm totally obsessed with them, so why would anyone want 2 change the plot and timeline in making the movie of them? The third movie is the worst, & I think that it has nothing 2 do with the books besides the chracters, so it shouldn't b considered as an "anne of Green Gables" related at all! As one who sees herself as a kindred spirit, I'm very much upset about the way the films were made. And another thing- I don't believe that Megan Follows is the right actress 2 play Anne. I'll b very much glad 2 see what u think about this subject. (07/21/2002)
